Kingston Development is a technology and internet business development firm based in Melbourne. KD specialises in web, mobile and process automation services. KD works with small and medium enterprises, state government departments and not-for-profits of varying scales.
Management Team
John Kingston - General Manager
John leads the programming and design service teams. He is responsible for the high-level project management of a majority of Kingston Development's clients. He oversees timelines, programming and design service delivery and ensures that our quality, security and functionality standards are met. He provides tactical and strategic advice to our clients drawing from over 25 years in leadership roles within the technology sector.
John Kingston commenced work as an electrical engineer before moving into the IT Industry in his late 20s. He has worked in a wide range of organizations including the Department of Defence, Honeywell, General Electric and Sterling Commerce. Most of his experience has been in managing small to medium sized IT projects ($100,000+) involving introduction of new technologies into mature organizations. Prior to his role at Kingston Development, John managed the consulting services organization at Sterling Commerce Australia. This group implements B2B, EDI and file transfer applications across a variety of industries including retail and manufacturing.  | Phillip Kingston is a highly sought after strategic thinker in the Internet space. He has been instrumental in the success and high-impact of hundreds of startup companies, new not-for-profits and in the national or global expansion of organisations around the world. He founded Kingston Development to provide low-cost, high-impact options for businesses to reduce costs and facilitate growth. At Kingston Development, Phil is responsible for large account interaction and sales. However, he spends most of his time helping clients realise their business objectives. He serves on a number of company and not-for-profit boards and committees. He is currently the Vice-Chairman of the Centre for Sustainability Leadership and an Executive Director of Planit Me Pty Ltd. He is also one of the lead consultants at Kingston Consulting. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and of the Melbourne Cricket Club He is regularly interviewed by various websites, blogs and publications and has spoken at a number of events, recently at Connecting Up 2009 and Developing Leaders 2009, and previously at University of Melbourne with the EIC and Entrepreneurs Week. He also facilitates workshops on technology, the internet and general innovation. He was also a finalist at the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards in 2008 and listed in BRW Magazine's Top Australian Web Startups. In 2009, he has been listed in Anthill's Hot30Under30 in 2009. He recently won a scholarship from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
