Act Wild (Zoos Victoria)

Act Wild is a learning and action focused community website, m-site and mobile app providing opportunities for young people and families to take simple real world actions that benefit wildlife. KD developed the mobile and web interfaces, as well as building a public and private API for deployment of functionality across other state government departments as well as facilitating third party development. Zoos Victoria runs three great zoos: Melbourne Zoo, Healesville Sanctuary, and Werribee Open Range Zoo and welcomes more than 1.6 million visitors annually, making it Victoria’s largest paid tourism attraction. On Act Wild, you’ll find animal profiles, Zoo Feeds blog, a student forum, Wild Schools section, a calendar of events and loads of images, videos and fun facts.

Global Poverty Project

Global Poverty Project’s (GPP) vision is a world without extreme poverty within a generation. GPP exists to increase the number and effectiveness of people taking action to end extreme poverty. So they have developed 1.4 Billion Reasons – a simple yet ground-breaking presentation, that is travelling the world, inspiring and empowering audiences in its path. KD has helped GPP improve its audience engagement within their presentations by providing SMS based voting and participation. KD has assisted with the development of viral videos and viral campaigns across email, social networks and SMS. KD is continually working with GPP to create high impact and highly focused technology driven campaigns, maximising the uptake and reach of GPP’s messages.

Leadership ReWired (Centre for Sustainability Leadership)

Leadership Rewired is an initiative of the Centre for Sustainability Leadership (CSL). CSL is a not for profit organisation dedicated to expanding the influence of people who want to create a sustainable future, by building their knowledge, skills and networks. Leadership Rewired is a comprehensive e-learning platform with 85 rich media articles on sustainability leadership. It involves quizzes, videos, voice-overs, benchmarks tests and case studies from across the world. As well as the technology development, KD project managed the recording of audio modules in professional recording studios, script writing and copyrighting, course structuring, information hierarchy and marketing of the program.

Taxi Trigger

TaxiTrigger is a revolutionary iPhone application that can immediately register your presence and track your movement in a taxi cab. It is a safety critical mobile application utilising GPS and real-time data synchronisation between the iPhone and the web. TaxiTrigger can be configured to notify loved ones via SMS if you do not arrive at your destination on time. Each taxi trip can be viewed on a map via the secure and private website in real time so that your loved ones can see where you are if they are worried. The user can also see if the taxi driver is taking a genuine path to their destination to protect themselves from being overcharged during interstate travel or in unknown areas.

Global Changemakers (British Council)

The Global Changemakers is an initiative of the British Council based in Bern, Switzerland. The Global Changemakers website is a vibrant global community of young social entrepreneurs, activists, and volunteers. The platform enables community members to share experiences, build skills, apply and test ideas and access some truly amazing opportunities. KD built a high impact community enabling website that fosters collaboration and participation between changemakers. KD’s re-development of the Global Changemakers website has resulted in a higher frequency of user contributions, user registrations and user submissions.

Re.cruit.Me

Re.cruit.me allows small businesses to save time and improve effectiveness when it comes to hiring staff in technical roles. Rather than relying on resumes and cover letters for insight into a candidate’s technical competency, Re.cruit.me allows employers to screen candidates at the time of application. A short 15 minute online test is not a replacement for rigorous certifications or in-person testing, but it will deter candidates who do not possess the basic skill sets required for the job and who are not prepared to spend some time demonstrating their ability. Each job that is setup in Re.cruit.Me has a unique URL that can be linked to from any print or web job ad, such as on Seek , MyCareer or CareerOne. Employers can then easily rank candidates overall performance or performance in specific subject areas.
